The map at the beginning of Prisoners of the Sun showed the northern part of Peru as pertaining to Ecuador…This area has long been disputed between the two countries, and as a result Prisoners of the Sun was banned in Peru.
I didn’t know this one. Did a little bit of research and found that Peru and Ecuador had the longest-running international armed conflict in the Western Hemisphere over that piece of territory.
