Tintin Magazine

Happy Easter!

Ok, so Easter is two Sundays down the road…but Tintin Magazine has so many Easter related covers, I decided I’d post one today and one next Thursday. I like this…it’s a great new way for Tintinology to do something festive.

Journal de TINTIN édition Française N° 493 du 3 Avril 1958

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen Tintin with chocolate before, but clearly Tintin has good taste. Except maybe the pink bow…And, of course, Snowy has a chocolate egg too. I hope he didn’t eat it though, and I certainly hope it isn’t solid, because I just read that it only takes 20 ounces of milk chocolate to kill a small dog. Anyway, Snowy’s tough. Yet, while we know Snowy lives, now I’m actually wondering, were Snowy given the choice of dying any way he preferred, if death by chocolate might just be his pick. It might be mine…

By the way, I don’t know how many times I looked at this and didn’t notice the snowflakes. In contrast with the flowers, it must be celebrating the fact that the cold Belgian winters were all thawed out and that spring had finally come! I don’t relate as much to this in the climate where I live, but I’m sure a lot of you know what I’m talking about…

If any of you are going away for Easter, I hope you have a great time. I will be going away to the beach, but make sure to check back next Thursday, if you can, as there will be another cover. Every Thursday from now on I hope to post a Tintin Magazine cover. Hope this brightened your day a bit!

I love Tintin and I love Easter but this magazine cover design is rather ugly. 😛 Still, it’s an interesting piece of Tintin history.
