In less than one week, Tintin will return to America!
Much has changed since Tintin was last here. Al Capone is now history. He’d be pressed to find a hostage tribe of Indians. And the grand city of New York that once paraded him through the streets doesn’t even have a clue who he is. But soon Tintin will be seen in more US cities than he’s ever been to before, and visit them all in one day.The movie that the rest of the world has loved so far is about to come to America.
Here’s a short video of Steven Spielberg on the medium. Years after this movie has been anounced, they are still throwing the same spin on news related to the Tintin movie. But Spielberg is ready for them and knows what to say. I’m with him, sincerely hoping that the question about motion capture will be moot soon.

In all honesty, I think we may be expecting a bit too much of America if we think that just because Tintin has a movie out here, even a big movie, America will suddenly love Herge’s comics and the world will be one big happy family of Tintin fans. But at the very least, hopefully now that Tintin is coming out when we tell our friends about him they won’t mistake him for a dog! My fear is that we may have to tell people instead ”there was a movie off of him a while ago” and they’ll answer ”oh yeah..I heard a little bit about that.” And we’re right back where we started. But even if America stays in the dark, we know who he is, and we can count ourselves amoung those lucky enough to be devout fans.

And more new trailers keep coming!!

December 16th, 2011 at 4:32 amI think people from America will go see it, because Spielberg did it. Big names often draw big crowds, y’know.
December 16th, 2011 at 5:50 amNew tv spot with a little new footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLU-A3CXwnI
December 16th, 2011 at 6:00 amAnd another tv spot with Tintin saying “Great snakes!” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8RblKREvt0&feature=relmfu
I love the TV spot when he syas “Great Snakes!” and “Tin-tense”, and “Tin-credible”…I am absolutely pumped to see this movie! If only it was coming out sooner, I still have to wait 10 days!
December 16th, 2011 at 11:27 amWell, he doesn’t actually say “Tin-tense” etc, but it is actually quite clever.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:31 amSo, I’m not the only one who has the dog problem. I’ve been telling my dad about Tintin and he always asks, “Rin Tin Tin?”
December 16th, 2011 at 7:28 pmI can’t wait to see it. Literally. I can’t wait to see the film. It’s hard. It’s like I am always aware that the movie is coming and I can’t wait.
It will be awesome
!

December 17th, 2011 at 3:28 amAnother TV spot on the official Tintin website;
http://www.us.movie.tintin.com/#/main/video/holidayfun
He says Great Snakes, there is some rhyming in it, and it sounds like the movie is up for a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film and several other awards.
December 17th, 2011 at 4:55 amJust to let you guys know all of the kids in my school have started reading the comics and my dad was laughing because he said i was a “trend starter” which I
December 17th, 2011 at 1:45 pmsuppose i am since even my best friend hadn’t heard of tintin until the film and he’s quite knowledgeble about comics like asterix and tintin
PS. My mam said I loved tintin when I was 5 years old!
December 17th, 2011 at 1:47 pmIf anyone can get the plans, or if we can get as many stills of the ship Karaboudjan as possible, I’d really like to have these references on hand. I have decided my future model railroad will have ot have a wharf with a Karaboudjan on it. Yes, the ship would probably scale out to somthign ridiculous like 5 or 8 feet by my reckoning, but it would be a FINE model indeed!!!
