Tintin soundtrack on itunes!!!

John William’s long awaited Tintin soundtrack is finally up on itunes. I’m going to be very disciplined and wait until I see the movie to hear the theme for the first time, especially because I know William’s style and often times much of his music is best when accompanied with the images onscreen. But I most certainly will get this soundtrack, sooner or later. If you’re interested, you can get the whole thing on itunes for 8 pounds here.

I know it’s very easy to do in today’s modern age, and there’s probably even a way to do it ”legally”, but if you really want to get this soundtrack I recommend that you pay for it, it’s only 8 pounds. Perhaps you want to wait even for it to come out on a nice CD you can keep with the rest of your Tintin stuff and pass on to your kids. When that comes out I’ll make sure to post about it.

Good find, Trix!

    The track ‘escape from the Karaboujan’ is the music that is behind one of the 5 review clips (the one when they’re on the lifeboat obviously escaping from the Karaboujan).

    And I am annoyed because I have no money on my iTunes account at the moment so I can’t buy any of the songs.

    The cd will be available on Amazon the 13th of December: http://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Tintin-John-Williams/dp/B005KWAWJ2

    btw and i finally viewed the movie,
    I think it was pretty good overall except about mixing up stories about together but effects like 3D and such were very nice. Also it’s a lot of non-stop action scenes which makes it pretty good :D

    Caleb, thanks for sharing the links. I think it’s good that the TV spots show some new footage but they seem to be a bit cheesy. I guess they have to introduce the characters to a largely unfamiliar US audience. The final link in your post doesn’t work.

    @ Tintinrulz

    sorry about that, here’s the final link

    Here’s another new one, with a fleeting flash of Castafiore.

    To those who say not enough attention to herge’s drawings was given, I have this:

    I was surprised no one posted this.
    To those who have not seen the movie: This contains new scenes and may spoil some scenes for you :)

    I must admit that this is funny. It’s fun to see Bell, Frost, Pegg and the 3 screenwriters get questions about the books wrong, or make up their own answers! And it is funny when Bell gets frustrated…..

    And if you’re Aussie, like myself, you’ll enjoy this ;)

    Off topic, but I thought I had to bring this up. A fan artist at the Tintin Deviantart comm I was part of said that Moulinsart had ordered him to take off his Tintin fanart from his account. His artwork only came to their attention because some art thieves had been selling prints of his work on Amazon. He was also told that Tintin fanart is not allowed to be exhibited even online.

    It would just be a matter of time before these guys might issue a directive with the DeviantArt staff and purge the site of all Tintin fanworks. This is just too much. I’m really afraid, because I have made a lot of Tintin fanart myself these past days and if this happens, there’s no way that I could share my fanworks with fans around the world.

    Trix, thanks for sharing. Since when has Flight 714 had the ‘for Sydney’ part added to the title of the English translation. My copy is just Flight 714. I would love to see a bit of an Aussie flavour to the next Tintin movie but it would be a bit presumptuous (and we don’t actually see them visit Australia in Flight 714 to begin with).

    lalunafelis, I’m all for protecting the characters and Herge’s legacy but I think Herge would be furious with Nick Rodwell’s draconian hold over his creations. Moulinsart should be helping fans to celebrate Tintin and introduce new people to the series, not selling only expensive merchandise and punishing fans for showing their talents. If people were selling their Tintin works for money, I can see a problem there but most are just looking to share their love with others.

  16. Trix Says:

    My copy has the ‘to Sydney’ part on it, but it is a recent addition. It’s been around for a couple of years.

  17. Tintinrulz Says:

    Oh, okay. Thanks. It’s good to have the Australian reference, even if the title sounds rather awkward now.

  18. Mike Dutton Says:

    @Tintinrulz

    Firstly, the reason 714 has its full title, is because it was decided to give it its original French title, starting from the 2007 reprints. The 2003 editions, the ones I have, are the last ones to have their original titles.

    Secondly, your argument about Nick Rodwell. Absolutely agree. I can’t believe he had the guts to bring his officials to THIS site, claiming that the promotion of his books is a violation.

    @Everyone

    Whether you liked it or hated it, the fact is, we need to thank Spielberg and Jackson for making the film. After all, there are very few Tintin fans left, so it’s thanks to them for making the movie, and introducing new people to Tintin.

    Because of Rodwell, Tintin is plummeting: nobody can promote it, nor can they afford merchandise. Newcomers, having heard that, would feel the need to say, “Why bother with it?”

    Had it not been for the film, 100 years from now, only old people would really care about Tintin, and it would lay there on a dusty shelf, because Rodwell is too greedy to have fun with it, like Hergé did.

  19. Trix Says:

    I watched an interview with Spielberg and Jackson in it, speaking about the movie. And Jackson said breifly about how most movies these days are based on science fiction, or super heros, and why not a good old classic real adventure? It is so true. There have been so many of those types of movies this year (too many to name) and they are good, but they really only draw one type of crowd, or an age group. And the thing about the Tintin movie, is that it is a realistic story, and it attracts just about any crowd. And it is also the same with the Indiana Jones movies.
