Has Tintin Been Cast?

The Daily Mail (not the most reliable paper in the world) is reporting that 17 year old Thomas Sangster has been cast as Tintin. Sangster is no stranger to the movies, he played the son in Love Actually, he also appeared in Nanny McPhee and is about to start work on James Cameron’s Bright Star.

I’ve not seen Thomas Sangster in any films but this photo shows he has the right look to him. He seems a better prospect than Kirsten Myburgh. However I’m not going to make predictions. This story appeared in the Daily Mail’s Showbiz section so hasn’t been subjected to the already low editorial standards of the news desk. It could easily be Sangster’s agent getting some free publicity by floating a rumour to a gullible journalist. Or it could be an example of a great scoop.

    no. too young for Tintin (if you think he should represent the same character as from the comic). Tintin is an adult with a young spirit. He looks like young but not as much as Thomas. Thomas looks like younger than 17. Eventhought Thomas is /might be as cute and lovely as Tintin.

    The role of tin tin is going to simon pegg, he came into my mum’s work and gave a meeting,(like a q and a) and he said that he got the role of tin tin coming out soon,and if you don’t believe me, go to brokworth school in gloucester and ask the 50 students he gave the meeting too, and 7 staff.

    simon pegg will play thompson. not tintin. i think he’s too old for the role of tintin. but he will be perfect for one of the thompson twins! i wonder if he’ll play thompson or thomson?

    I know, I heard that from my friend who works in a casting office. Apparently, they didn’t want a black fella to be playing the role but Samuel L. Jackson was so good in the audition that they’ve re-written the whole series of books to accommodate him.

    Apparently every single book will now be based in New York and will be based around gangs, drugs and whores. A modern day take on the TinTin books.

    I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to TinTin gunning down some badass mo’fo’s.
