Gollum to Play Haddock
Its being heavily rumored but not yet confirmed that Andy Serkis will play Captain Haddock. Serkis made is name playing Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings. As Peter Jackson is directing one of the Tintin movies and his production company is doing all the CGI, I’m not surprised that the excellent Andy Serkis is on-board.

I am really excited about the new Tintin Movie. I have been an avid fan of Tintin since I was a little boy growing up in India. My parents thankfully bought me almost all the books except the Blue Lotus and Tintin and the Picaros (Was released the year I was born)…I love each and every character but I was very excited and curious to see Professor Calculus’s inventions in every book !
I believe Tintin is the real deal for every young boy ready for an international adventure !

December 8th, 2008 at 12:53 amI’m really excited to here about the Tintin movie. I’ve been a huge fan for a long time. Andy Serkis is indeed very talented, but it doesn’t seem to me like he really fits the role of Captian Haddock.

The movie is going to be all CGI so the actors will just be providing the basis for motion capture.
The character’s look will be entirely computer generated.

January 9th, 2009 at 12:13 pmThanks! I didn’t know the movie was going to be CGI. That is really awesome. I am definitely going to spread the word about the film. Andy Serkis is the best at motion-capture, so if he gets the part, that would be great. Can’t wait for the movie!
